Ms Liz Wilson
Liz is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) with over 15 years’ experience in Cardiology and a MSc in Genomic Medicine. She started in the inherited cardiac conditions service four years ago with a special interest in cardiac genetics (including mitochondrial conditions affecting the heart), care of families affected by sudden cardiac death, and tailored psychological support for ICC patients.
Liz is currently based at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and upskilling in advanced clinical practice in cardiology care whilst continuing to contribute to publications and projects around cardiac genetics.
Rachel Bastiaenen
Rachel is a Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where she is the Clinical Lead for Inherited Cardiac Conditions. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London.
She studied at Peterhouse Cambridge and Imperial College London. She completed Cardiology training in the London Deanery and a fellowship in Vancouver. Her PhD was awarded from St George’s University of London and involved non-invasive risk stratification of patients with cardiomyopathy. Her clinical and research interests focus on inherited arrhythmia syndromes, cardiomyopathies and cardiac MRI.
