What is the SEVN?
The South East Vascular Network (SEVN) is a networked model for the provision of vascular surgical services across South East London and West Kent.
It was developed in response to the Vascular Society recommendations within the London Cardiovascular Model of Care (2010). These proposed that vascular services should be provided within an effective, comprehensive network system, with a central unit providing elective and emergency arterial vascular surgery, linked with local units providing the majority of services, including day surgery, varicose vein, amputations and selected limb interventions.
The vascular networks were established in 2016, and serve to make improvements in vascular care for the regions.
