A September 2020 detailed changes to the Teleologic inter hospital transfer (IHT) system for all cardiology and cardiac surgery IHT referrals. The network agreed that with the growing collaboration and the COVID-19 operational pressures that the existing joint IHT referral list between Guy’s and St Thomas’ (GSTT) and King’s College (KCH) hospitals be extended to integrate St George’s (SGUH) for a South London approach to all cardiology and cardiac surgery transfers. This joint South London IHT referral list between GSTT, KCH and SGUH went live on 5 October 2020 on Teleologic for all cardiology and cardiac surgery IHTs. It has recently come to light that due to an error this change was not completed for St Peter’s Hospital and we sincerely apologise for this omission.

The Teleologic team has rectified this for St Peter’s Hospital. The joint South London IHT referral list on Teleologic is live for St Peter’s as of 4 January 2021 . Any other referral options you may have on Teleologic (eg Harefield and Brompton) will still remain.

With a joint IHT referral list for GSTT, KCH and SGUH, referring centres can refer to all three tertiary trusts across cardiology and cardiac surgery in a single IHT request. Referrers will continue to have the option to express preferred site(s), which has been updated to a simplified checkbox rather than free text. This will ensure greater clarity of preferences and better monitoring through reports. Any other referral options you may have on Teleologic will still remain.
