** Sent on behalf of South London Cardiac ODN clinical leads: Dr. Gerry Carr-White, Dr. Jon Byrne and Dr. Raj Sharma**

A recent cyberattack on lab provider, Synnovis, has had a significant impact on the delivery of services at Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts and primary care services in South East London.

This email is to update you on inter hospital transfer (IHT) processes as a result of this cyberattack:

  • Cardiology and vascular IHTs are to be processed in the normal way.
  • Emergency cases are processed in the normal way, on the basis on clinical urgency.
  • For cardiac surgery IHTs, referring centres should continue to follow the usual referral pathway as normal. Consultant to consultant discussions may then need to take place for complex patients who may require diversion to other centres due to the impacts of the Synnovis incident. Therefore, DGHs do not need to refer differently due to the Synnovis incident.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update you with any changes, however, please do forward this email to anyone who may benefit from this update.

Please direct questions either to Charlotte Gallagher (charlotte.gallagher@gstt.nhs.uk) or Rachel Westland (rachel.westland@gstt.nhs.uk).
