Inherited cardiac conditions
Inherited cardiac conditions (ICC) are disorders that run in families and are genetically mediated. These conditions affect cardiac function and heart rhythm which may lead to heart failure or sudden death.
Inherited cardiac conditions comprise a broad range of underlying pathologies including:
- Inherited cardiomyopathies
- Inherited arrhythmia syndromes
- Aortopathies
- Muscular dystrophies
- Familial hypercholesterolaemia
